Spath

Your first question may be what is a Spath?

A Spath is a Peace Lily. The full scientific name is Spathiphyllum. Peace Lilies are commonly given as an expression of sympathy. What you may not know about them is that they are remarkably resilient plants! Plants are frequently given after loss rather than flowers because they last longer and can be a source of comfort. But Peace Lilies are special plants; they can perk back up after being droopy.

So can you.

The Spath represents this brand perfectly: Comfort; Strength; Resilience.

Spath is the company that the founder wished was available for her mother’s family in 1981. The company’s founder was eight months old when her 20 year old mother’s life was cut short by a bullet. Because her mother’s parents were too grief stricken, her mother’s 18 year old sister did her best to handle the arrangements. However, she did not know what to do or where to start.

Spath will create a path to guide you through and answer those two questions:

“What do I do?” and “Where do I start?

Formed by early traumatic experiences and the need to create order out of disorder, the founder is a lawyer. She is licensed in Pennsylvania, D.C., Maryland, England & Wales, and Texas.

IMPORTANT NOTE: While Spath can help you with all aspects of logistical assistance with expertise and empathy after your loss and the using the Spath Path can ensure that you pay less to your lawyer by being organized, this is not a substitute for professional legal advice. Spath is not offering legal advice. You are strongly encouraged to consult with and hire an experienced probate or estate lawyer to advise you on your particular case.

Relying on her professional experience and unflappable demeanor, the founder has assisted many times following the deaths of close friends and family members. Not for the legal aspects, but to handle arrangements and the many logistics involved for their belongings and resolving accounts.

Administering her grandmother’s estate is what led to her founding this company to help others.

P.S. The founder followed her own advice and had an excellent probate lawyer.
